Making My Marks

I went out into the yard today with a can of paint, and a copy of the labyrinth pattern I want to create.  What an optimist!!  I used that entire can of paint making incredible mistakes in the yard.  It was rather hilarious.

For those of you who are engineers: bite your tongues.  I know there are mathematical ways to do this.  I'm choosing a different way.

A quick trip to Home Depot and I had flags and two rolls of pink tape and the whole wonderful path began to take shape!!

I decided to take pictures that reveal my mistakes, because why not?  Nothing about me, my life or this labyrinth is going to be precise, measured or perfect.

I have a pattern for the rocks, and also places for plantings and bird feeders.  I'm SO excited!!

  1. I can see it!!!! I really can! It's going to be incrediable. I'm so envious. Can't wait to watch the progress. I'd come help but I can't bend or hardly walk after my boot camp experience.

  2. Most of the engineers I know are practical morons. It's a different skill, or at least it can be.

(I'd have taken a long string and a walked it around a stake in the middle to make circles. I think the ribbon is a smarter approach. It gives a nice free-flowing line for the eye to follow.)

I'm going to enjoy watching this come to life.

  4. Keifus - WHEW! I was thinking of you and your beautifully laid out wood floor when I was on my third paint color and thought "Hoo Boy, this is not pretty!" But the really wonderful thing is as I created the paths with the flags and the ribbon I could really imagine it coming to life ... and the judgment fell away. Very satisfying! I hope your flooring projects feel that way for you!

Tia - Welcome! And yes, it is going to come to life, I can feel it!
